What would you say if we told you that R1,000 can feed a family of five for an entire year?

Food security

Impossible? Not if you invest the money in a food gardening course at Siyabonga Africa!

R1,000 provides an unemployed mother with all the practical hands-on training she needs to successfully grow her own food – from preparing the soil and starting a compost pile to propagating seedlings, pest control and crop rotation.

It’s proper hands-on training, right here in our own thriving organic food garden … giving trainees the inspiration and belief that food security is within their reach.

And when they’ve learned and absorbed all we can teach them, they go home with not only knowledge – but all the seeds they need to start planting. Pumpkin, beans, spinach, carrots, beetroot, green peppers and more.

Spinach, in particular, is very fast-growing. A bountiful harvest is just a few short weeks away. And, by selling surplus to neighbours, a successful food gardener can earn enough to buy other food staples – bread, milk, sugar and even a little meat.
At Siyabonga Africa, we dream of creating communities where no one goes hungry. But we need your help to turn the dream into reality.

Please will you invest R1,000 to put one unemployed person on the path to food security?
Or, if that is too much to ask, perhaps you’d consider co-sponsoring a trainee with a donation of R500?

Donate

As you probably know, South Africa’s unemployment rate is now officially the highest in the world … 42%. Being unable to find a job not only creates despair and suffering for hundreds of thousands of people – it’s a breeding ground for criminal activities. Desperate people will do anything to survive.

By offering people another path out of poverty, we can create happier, safer communities for everyone.
So please will you be part of the solution by making your donation now?

Thank you for caring.
