Empower women to grow food, feed families, and change futures
“Empowering women is key to building stronger families and communities.”
At Siyabonga Africa, we see this every day. Women arrive at our doors carrying the weight of hunger, unemployment, and uncertainty. They leave with something powerful: knowledge, confidence, and the tools to provide for their families.
But they can’t do it without you.
This Women’s Month, we’re asking you to walk alongside women who are determined to change their circumstances through our Food Gardening course, part of the Siyasebenza Programme.
Through this training, women learn how to:
- Prepare soil and plant seasonal vegetables
- Grow and harvest nutritious food sustainably
- Sell surplus produce to neighbours, spaza shops, and local markets
Recently, a group of women stood proudly as they received their Food Gardening certificates. Yet the real achievement was far greater. Each left with a seed box that could feed a family of four for an entire year, and with the confidence to transform a small patch of soil into a source of income and dignity.
For R10,000, you can sponsor a woman’s full training journey – an investment that provides:
- Food Gardening training and a pathway to food security
- Daily meals during the programme
- Seeds to feed a family for a year
- E-Learning and Computer Literacy
- Work readiness and job-seeking support
- Financial literacy and household assessments
- A journey of rediscovering self-worth and independence
We know that not everyone can give R10,000 – and that’s okay. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to funding a full training journey. Together, many small donations make up the large gift that changes a woman’s life.
Your generosity doesn’t just train one woman. It uplifts her children, her household, and her community. Food security becomes income security. A garden becomes a business. A caregiver becomes an entrepreneur.
And the impact doesn’t end there.
As a donor, you’ll receive BBBEE points, a tax-deductible donation, and the joy of knowing you’ve made a measurable social impact.
This Women’s Month, don’t just celebrate women. Invest in their future. Be part of a legacy that grows from a single seed into lasting change.
Together, we can cultivate independence, dignity, and hope.
